About Me

So happy you’re here to find out more about me and GD Sports Massage & Rehabilitation!

Find out more about me, Georgia Dutton

My name is Georgia Dutton, and I am a fully licensed sports rehabilitation therapist based in Ormskirk, UK.

I have years of experience in the field of sports rehabilitation. I am passionate about sport myself and love to dance, horse ride, and go to the gym when I’m not with my clients.

I’ve always had an interest in biology and the mechanics of body movement, which is what encouraged me to begin studying Sports Rehabilitation (BSc) at the University of Salford.

My Degree

During university, I was able to shadow cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation. This experience gave me a true understanding of sports massage, rehabilitation, and exercise prescription. After having learned the theory, I also had the opportunity to shadow physiotherapists who worked with Wigan WarriorsCatalans Dragons, and Widnes Vikings – teams who play in the England Rugby League.

Once I had completed these placements, I left with a much greater knowledge of injury assessments. I also learned how to create step-by-step rehabilitation programs. This is something I use almost every day with my own clients to ensure they perform at their best.

In July 2019, I graduated with my license to practice sports rehabilitation.

I had the ambition of working with other teams and individuals to help them achieve their own sporting goals. So, after leaving university, I then started my own business ‘GD Sports Massage & Rehabilitation. I could not ask for a more rewarding career! Each and every one of my clients has allowed me to broaden my knowledge within this profession.

As well as offering the standard sports massage rehabilitation services, I have also taken the time to become qualified in a number of other key services that my clients absolutely love.

My Clients

Alongside working with my own clients through my business GD Sports Massage & Rehabilitation, I also work with semi-professional football clubs. I currently work for Marine FC. Previous clubs I have worked for include Bootle FC under 21s, Widnes FC, Litherland REMYCA, St. Helens Town, and Pilkington FC. Here, I am able to see players on a 1:1 basis working on their injuries and getting them back to full form. I also work pitchside here which is such a great experience because I get to work with talented athletes and be on-hand for treatments whenever they need it.

In addition, I have also worked with Kate Simmons Dance, working with dancers ranging from ballet to street dance. As a result of working with such a fantastic set of dancers, I have learned to adapt my skills and knowledge to a different and more intricate area of work.

Overall, by working with such amazing people, I have gathered such a wealth of experience and knowledge in the field. Being able to meet new people and help them achieve their sports goals only furthers my love of all things sports rehabilitation!
